Pre-testing
Two tests, a pre-project “test-in” and a post-project “test-out”, are often performed before and after home energy projects are completed. Pre-testing identifies the energy usage baseline, needed improvements, and that the environment is safe for workers.
Post-testing – Blower Door & CAZ Testing
Once home energy improvements — such as air sealing, insulation, windows, and other improvements — are complete, the post-test, or “test-out” is conducted. There are two parts to post testing: the blower door test and CAZ testing.
Post-testing demonstrates that the energy goals of the project are met. It certifies that that proper ventilation and open combustions appliances (certain furnaces, hot water heaters, boilers) are operating safely. This allows the contractor to pull the permit to continue the project.

Contractors know Infrared imaging is key to building safety.
Using infrared imaging, our energy auditors detect otherwise hidden spots where a home leaks heat; holds moisture; has dangerous hidden electrical systems; lacks insulation; or where hidden pests may be festering.
Verify contractor and sub-contractor work.

Contractors and builders avoid future problems by checking their work — and their subcontractors’ work — hidden behind walls and ceilings.

Pre-Post Project Testing
Ensure quality project results with pre- and post-project testing.
